Components to include in your Multimodal ePortfolio Essay

 

Project Components: How you decide to organize the material below is up to you, since you are composing the essay. However, the following “parts” should be included. Your Multimodal Composition should represent a 50/50 blend of text and other modalities (like image, audio, video, etc.)

1. Home/Landing Page with Explanatory Statement of the ePortfolio composition (Introduction)
2. Bio and Contact info (You can create a new Gmail Account just for this purpose, if you wish, and may or may not include your Professional social media contact information)
3. Learning Goals/Personal Goals
4. 5 (minimum) Low-Stakes and Mid-Stakes Artifacts with accompanying reflections to assess your progress toward the Student Learning Outcomes in STACC. (remember, this is a MULTIMODAL essay—so you can type words, but also you can display in video, audio, image, text-document etc.
5. 2 (minimum) High Stakes assignments with accompanying reflections to assess your progress toward the Student Learning Outcomes in STACC.
6. 1200-2000 words of Reflection. These can be broken up and developed as introductory paragraphs to artifacts, or you can include a lengthier reflection for all artifacts and your first semester of STACC/College, the challenges, the triumphs, the books, etc.
7. 3-4 external sources that support your reflective assessments about your own progress. These can be sources we’ve read together in class (hooks, Dweck, Graff, etc.) OR external sources (found trhough research).
8. Bibliography of all semester sources, including those listed in #8
9. (Optional Transitions and other items to fulfill the multimodal component) Quotes that are meaningful to you; books or articles you’ve read or films you’ve watched that have had an impact upon you; photographs, video and audio material that has helped you to develop over the course of this semester . . .YOU in photographs, video, audio material, etc.
